Living With Gaia

Living With Gaia

According to Greek Mythology from her all life evolved and she teaches us the importance of how ecosystems interrelate to how we should live. We are the caretakers on this earth and all living things shall return to her when there lifespan is complete.

Gaia or today known as “Mother Nature” is a healing Goddess. She connects us to our inner essence when we take the time to engage with her. She teaches us about the seasons, cycles, rhythms, and patterns of the universe and each of our own lives. All we have to do is watch her go through any of the above cycles and see what she is doing; so we can in return work alongside of her.

James Lovelock who is an independent scientist, author, researcher and environmentalist proposed the “Gaia Hypothesis” in the 1960’s.

“He stated that all of life on this planet great and small are all a part of Gaia and all equally important to her well-being. Mother Gaia makes Earth capable of supporting all life; while the solar system lacks the means of producing vegetation and supporting life”.

“The earth is more than just a home, it's a living system and we are part of it”.

Gaia teaches us the importance of harmony, balance, life and death; everything else in between is about the journey. It is within each of the above that every individual will experience. For some of us the first two harmonies and balance will vary; some of us will be able to achieve and maintain the rhythm and for others it will be more of a struggle. The most important factor that I have encountered is that in today’s fast paced society one can be so disconnected to Mother Nature while they are connected to everything else that they actually lose the true meaning of the pulse of “life”.

There are many ways in which you can connect to Gaia:
